Volunteer

Effective bike advocacy is a lot of work, and VBF is always looking for help. Currently, we need:

• A graphic artist to create a new logo, and a whole new set of promotional material
• Help with our Cross-State Ride in May
• People to share webmaster duties (comfortable with Wordpress)
• Good communicators

Serve on our board

We changed our bylaws to allow additional board members, so that anyone doing notable work to promote cycling can help steer the statewide advocacy process. Please let us know if you would like to work on any of the following:

• New statewide legislation, or changes to current legislation
• A project or campaign of your own that needs statewide promotion or support
• A VBF campaign or state program that you think could use your help

Basically, if you’re thinking, “someone ought to be doing that,” or, “there ought to be a law,” and you’d like to get involved, please contact us.

We’re especially looking for representatives from the Virginia Beach and Hampton Roads area. Though one board member is from there, it’s the second largest metro area in Virginia, and perhaps the least bike-friendly; so it deserves more representation.

But anyone in Virginia is welcome, and encouraged to join us.
