Primary elections in Virginia are being held on June 20, with early voting starting May 5. The Virginia Bicycling Federation, in partnership with local bicycling organizations, invited 2023 Virginia General Assembly candidates for nomination in competitive elections to complete a brief questionnaire by April 30 about their bicycling experience and views about bicycling benefits, safety, and funding. Responses are posted verbatim here, on the Virginia Bicycling Federation (VBF) website, to educate voters on candidates’ views about these issues. Select the appropriate tab below (at the very bottom of the table), either “Senate” or “House of Delegates”, then scroll to the district of interest to locate responses from candidates in that district.
Note: Virginia Senate and House of Delegates districts are being renumbered, starting with the 2023 elections. The district numbers in past elections do not relate to the new district numbers.
